Mama Koala Reusable Swim Diapers-Grow With Your Baby
Have you ever been at a pool with your babies and they suddenly need to go to the bathroom, but there's no toilet nearby? Don't worry - it happens to the best of us! But the good news is reusable swim diapers can make these situations a little less stressful! They're a convenient and eco-friendly option that can help keep your kiddos comfortable and happy while they swim.
What are reusable swim diapers?
Reusable swim diapers are specially designed cloth diapers for water activities. Many parents use them for infants and toddlers who haven't been potty trained yet. They are made from waterproof materials, like polyester with a PUL layer, that prevent leakage and keep the pool water clean. They are designed to be worn without an additional diaper underneath, making them more convenient for swimming. Typically they come with snaps or hook&loop closures to stay tight and keep leaks at bay.
However, here's the thing: reusable swim diapers don't hold pee! They are specifically designed to hold in solid waste, but they won't absorb any liquid. Many parents think that reusable swim diapers work just like regular diapers, but they don't. So, if your kiddo needs to pee, it'll go right through the reusable swim diaper and into the pool.

Is it possible to use cloth diapers as swim diapers?
You can use cloth diapers for water play in baby pools or splash pads as the waterproof outer layer helps to contain messes and keeps the fun going. However, cloth diapers are designed to prevent anything from leaking out. When submerged, especially in big pools, beaches, or lakes, cloth diapers become heavy and saggy, making it difficult for your baby to move comfortably.
Mama Koala swim diapers have a slim design, which prevents water retention inside the diaper and keeps your baby safe from drowning. You can use the swim diaper alone, without any additional diapers. However, if needed, you can also use them with disposable swim diapers to meet the requirements of public swimming pools.
Last but not least, we can’t stress this enough: Always keep your little one within arm's reach whenever they are in or around water.
How do you wash reusable swim diapers?
We suggest using a wet bag to store your swim diapers and other swimwear after you finish in the pool.
You can then empty the bag and its contents into your washing machine or hand-wash them on low heat (≤40℃/104℉) with cloth diaper-friendly detergent. You can also wash them with your cloth diapers.
If your little one has a poo in the swim diaper, you can shake any solids into the toilet, rinse it off if necessary, and toss it into the wash. Afterward, you can hang them to dry, but be sure to avoid over-drying them in direct sunlight.
Some tips to keep in mind:
1. Rinse and wring out your swim diapers before washing or putting them in a wet bag to prevent chlorine from sitting on them.
2. Use a cloth diaper-friendly detergent that contains no bleach, fabric softeners, pure soap, brighteners, dyes, etc. Because those ingredients will reduce the lifespan of your swim diapers.
